Cybersecurity or information security has become one of the great concerns of business managers in the 21st century. For both companies and public administrations, there are billions of people and organizations connected to the Internet that demand new and better digital services. But meeting this demand implies managing new risks linked to the use of these digital technologies in a hyperconnected world. Every day we read news about companies and public entities that have suffered significant losses due to the action of cybercriminals. Are we entering into a too dangerous business? Are digital risks predictable? Do we have to live in fear of a cybersecurity incident? Most managers are quite capable and very well trained to manage the traditional risks of 20th century companies, but they have doubts when facing these new challenges, in which academic training for managers is still incipient. Cybersecurity for managers allows managers not coming from the field of security or information technology to identify the risks that have arisen, establish controls and, finally, put into practice the processes and organization necessary to do so efficiently. In addition to references to numerous national and international studies, the author uses examples from history, even from when computers did not exist, to facilitate the explanation of complex issues by establishing analogies with the challenges posed by the digital age. In short, a quick guide so that, facing all the risks, a manager can take control of his destiny on his journey to digital transformation.
